Thank you, Canutillo

Superintendent Galaviz Dear Canutillo Community,

As the sun sets on the horizon, casting its warm glow over our beloved Canutillo community, I find myself overcome with an immense sense of gratitude and pride. Last Saturday, our community came together in an extraordinary display of support for the future of Canutillo ISD, and I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming success of the Canutillo 2024 Bond election. On behalf of the entire district, I extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every member of the Canutillo ISD family who played a role in this historic achievement.

The passage of the Canutillo 2024 Bond marks the beginning of a new era for our district—an era characterized by progress, innovation, and unwavering commitment to excellence in education. With an influx of $387 million in bonds, we are poised to usher in the next phase of academic excellence in Canutillo ISD. This bond is not just a financial investment; it is a catalyst for transformative change that will ensure our facilities match the high-quality teaching and learning already taking place in our classrooms.

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the students of Canutillo High and Northwest Early College who played an instrumental role in advocating for the bond. Their passion, determination, and unwavering commitment to our district are truly inspiring. On their own initiative, these remarkable young people mobilized to launch a social media campaign that shed light on the urgent need for updated facilities in our district. Through their efforts, they not only raised awareness but also demonstrated the power of student voice in effecting positive change. To the students of Canutillo High and Northwest Early College, I say thank you for your dedication and for being shining examples of leadership in our community.

I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our principals, who, in addition to their already demanding responsibilities, went above and beyond to help disseminate information about the bond to parents and community members. Despite the challenges they faced, they stepped up to the plate and played a vital role in ensuring that voters were equipped with the facts and figures they needed to make an informed decision. Their unwavering commitment to our district and their tireless efforts to support our students and staff are truly commendable, and I am grateful for their leadership.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of the voters of our district. To those who cast their ballots in favor of the bond, I offer my sincerest thanks. Your vote is a vote of confidence in the future of Canutillo ISD, and we are committed to proving that your trust has been well-placed. We understand that we have a lot to prove to those who may have had reservations about voting for the bond, and we are fully committed to earning your trust and confidence.

We recognize that with your support comes great responsibility, and we are ready to rise to the occasion. Our commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability is unwavering, and we will ensure that every dollar of bond funding is invested wisely and in the best interest of our students and community. Together, we will work tirelessly to fulfill the promises made to our community and to provide our students with the world-class education they deserve.

As we embark on this journey together, I am filled with hope and optimism for the future of Canutillo ISD. Together, we will build a brighter future for our students, our community, and generations to come. Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work, Canutillo! The road ahead may be challenging, but with your support and dedication, I have no doubt that we will achieve great things. Thank you for believing in us, and thank you for believing in the power of education to change lives.
