“We are very proud of Sara for earning this opportunity,” said CHS Principal Candice Marrufo. “She has dedicated her high school career to position herself where she is today earning a full-ride scholarship allowing her to to focus on reaching her future academic and career goals.”

Lane has always dreamed of enlisting to serve her country. Both her parents and brothers are military veterans and she grew up looking forward to the day when she could follow in their footsteps.

With this generous support, Lane is poised to embark on a journey that blends her passion for aviation with her commitment to serving her country. She plans to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida - the world's largest and most respected university specializing in aviation and aerospace. She then plans to attend flight school to become a helicopter pilot.

“This scholarship will help me to pursue my goals by giving me a head-start and allowing me to not have to worry about student debt,” Lane said. “Paying for school is always the biggest challenge because once I earn my degree, the military will pay for my training. This opportunity is going to be a huge help because I won’t have to worry about the financial aspect.”

This scholarship not only recognizes Lane's academic achievements and leadership potential but also highlights her dedication to pursuing excellence in her chosen field. As she prepares to soar to new heights, Lane stands as a shining example of hard work and ambition in the pursuit of one's dreams.
