Rodriguez, along with California State Assembly member Lisa Calderon, were elected as first term board members at the organization’s Board of Directors meeting on July 13 in New York City during the NALEO 40th Annual Conference that welcomed 1,000 Latino leaders from across the country.

“I am excited to expand my role with NALEO and continue to ensure Latino representation in critical policies that impact education,” Rodriguez said. “I will work towards ensuring our voice is heard and the needs of our community and District are highlighted on a national level.”

Prior to joining the NALEO Educational Fund Board of Directors, Rodriguez completed his service on the NALEO Board of Directors.

“We are excited to have Assembly member Calderon and Trustee Rodriguez join the NALEO Educational Fund Board of Directors, and we are eager to see these two Latino leaders utilize their talents to spearhead NALEO Educational Fund’s mission and empower all Latinos through the American political process,” said NALEO Educational Fund Chair Alejandra Sotelo Solis. “Our new Board Members will be responsible for providing thought leadership surrounding the projects, events, and services that drive NALEO Educational Fund forward — encompassing everything from our professional development Policy Institutes to preparing the Latino electorate for the 2024 U.S. presidential elections.”
