CHS Class of 2023 receives caps, gowns and regalia ahead of commencement

This is the image for the news article titled CHS Class of 2023 receives caps, gowns and regalia ahead of commencement Graduating seniors from the Eagle Class of 2023 received their caps and gowns early on Wednesday as commencement celebrations begin at Canutillo High School.

Balloons, cheers and – of course – graduation regalia adorned the gym at CHS in anticipation of this event, which allows students to receive the appropriate color cap and gown according to their class ranking.

Students also received stoles and hoods that correspond to their academic achievement.

The Canutillo High School graduation is scheduled for 2 p.m. on May 31 at the Don Haskins Center.

“We are looking forward to the graduation ceremony on May 31 at the Don Haskins Center, which promises to be an exciting and emotional event,” said Interim Principal Candace Marrufo. “We invite the entire Canutillo community to join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of this outstanding class.”

During the ceremony on Wednesday, the school announced two important class awards: All Eagle Girl and All Eagle Boy.

The award for All Eagle Girl went to student government leader Leslie Reyes, a University of Arizona-bound student who is a member of the Student Advisory Board of the CISD Board of Trustees. The award for All Eagle Boy went to student athlete LJ Martin, a Brigham Young University-bound student who was one of the most highly recruited football players in the state.
