Students in the Canutillo Independent School District don’t return to school until Monday, Aug. 1, but their teachers are already hard at work getting ready to give them the Best Start in the Best Small School District in Texas!
Teachers and other instructional staff in CISD returned to work from their summer break today to begin the professional development and classroom set up needed for a successful 2022-23 academic year.
Before heading to their respective campuses, all CISD teachers gathered at Reyes Elementary to hear from noted educator and motivational speaker Chris “Shoof” Scheufele, who spoke about bullying prevention in schools.
“We are thrilled to welcome back our teachers for what we know will be an amazing school year,” said Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz. “Our central office staff have spent the summer preparing for their return and we have a full schedule of training and professional development ready for them. I know they will enjoy it!”
Teachers will gather again on Monday for the annual convocation and GRIT Conference that runs through Wednesday.
