LSG is an optional, first-of-its-kind training initiative. The purpose of the training is for Boards and Superintendents to focus on one primary objective, improving student outcomes. LSG Exemplar Cohort members will be sharing best practices from their experiences to help strengthen leadership in districts statewide.

“Through this governance process the board and administration strive for continuous improvement to better understand how to best serve our students and sustain our back-to-back A-rated district,” said Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz.

LSG provides coaching and support through a continuous-improvement framework for school boards and superintendents. LSG’s goal is to focus through tailored coaching aligned to the five pillars of the Texas Framework for School Board Development. Those five pillars are vision, accountability, structure, advocacy, and unity. In addition to focusing on student outcomes, LSG provides for governing and fiscal responsibility.

LSG workshops are two-day events whose aim is to create a supportive space in which governing teams can learn about and prepare for the commitment to focus intensely on improving student outcomes as described by the LSG integrity instrument. The workshop is a conversation about researched school board behaviors that improve student outcomes.
