TASBO’s Purchasing Award of Merit was created to recognize Texas school districts, open-enrollment charter schools, and education services centers that are committed to following professional standards in the acquisition of goods and services.

“We had one of the higher engagement scores in the state for the Award of Merit,” Martha Piekarski, Chief Business Officer said. “Our District staff has worked together to achieve financial transparency and high-quality financial reporting. When the District thrives, students, families, and the community benefit.”

Canutillo ISD submitted its CAFR for review by a team of professional auditors, who provided feedback to improve future documents.
