Congressman Silvestre & Carolina Reyes Elementary School and Northwest Early College High School in the Canutillo Independent School District were named to the Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll list for their work in academically preparing students for the future workforce.
The schools are among a selected number of schools in Texas and California that met the strict guidelines for inclusion on the Honor Roll list. The criteria includes comprehensively higher-than-normal performance on state assessments, particularly among student populations with historically low-performance standards.
Both Reyes and Northwest have a history of excelling academically and earning local, state and national accolades for effective teaching and learning.
“Canutillo ISD as a whole is the highest performing school district in the region, which is why we have been named the Best Small District in Texas and the only district in El Paso with three A ratings from the Texas Education Agency,” said Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz.
“Now, the Educational Results Partnership is reinforcing what we already knew: that our students and teachers are performing at extraordinary levels and that we are the leaders in the Borderland when it comes to academics,” he added. “Congratulations to Reyes and Northwest on a job well done.”
The Texas Honor Roll is produced by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and presented by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence in collaboration with the Texas Business Leadership Council.
