Canutillo ISD earns state public relations honors

The Public Information Office of the Canutillo Independent School District on Wednesday received 10 Star Awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association for their work in promoting student and staff success in the District.

The awards recognize writing, graphic design, photography and marketing done by the Public Information Office in several categories.

“The TSPRA Star Awards earned by Canutillo are proof positive that our District is the Best Small School District in Texas,” said Gustavo Reveles, Director of Communications and Marketing.

“The Public Information Office is a small, but talented group of professionals who are privileged to tell the stories of the students and staff of Canutillo ISD,” Reveles added. “To be honored for this work is to honor the people of Canutillo.”

Canutillo earned the following awards:

  • Program Gold Star for the Texas Music Educators Association Concert Program.
  • Photo Gold Star for Turkey Salute photo.
  • Logo Gold Star for Stronger Together logo.
  • Logo Gold Star for The Future is Now logo.
  • Social Media Campaign Gold Star for Canutillo ISD Teacher of the Year.
  • Photo Silver Star for Canutillo Eagle Football Victory photo.
  • Photo Silver Star for ¡Con Orgullo! NWECHS Graduation photo.
  • Photo Silver Star for Shout from the Sole photo.
  • Writing Bronze Star for “Meet Miranda, Canutillo High School Outstanding Ex story.

Additionally, Canutillo earned a Best in Category commendation for producing the best program booklet. The award was for a program the District produced for the Texas Music Educators Association Concert.

Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz said the community should be proud of the awards earned at TSPRA.

“Our kids and teachers have great stories to tell and we have an amazing team of communicators who are doing an outstanding job of telling those stories,” he said. “I’m proud that the rest of the state sees the great things that are happening in Canutillo.”
