The Canutillo ISD Police Department continued its efforts to provide safe and secure schools to our community by completing the Active Shooter Response for School-Based Law Enforcement training by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
Officers who participated in this training learned tactics that can help police officials respond to potential threats to schools based on historic data and events. The training included real-life exercises using simulation weapons and role players.
“The goal of the Canutillo ISD Police Department is to serve and secure the students and staff of the District. This training helped us be better prepared in case of an incident,” said Senior Police Officer Jose Kluge. “While we hope we never have the need to utilize these skills, we are always prepared to respond if the need arises.”
Canutillo ISD continues to prioritize the safety and security of its students and staff. Every campus in the District is staffed with a certified police officer or security guard whenever school is in session.
