Canutillo High School band & choir take top honors at regional competition

“In achieving a high showing with multiple First Division ratings and state qualifiers at the regional level, we celebrate not just our talent, but the dedication, discipline and passion of our students,” said CISD Fine Arts Director Dr. Regino Ramos. “This accomplishment reflects the unwavering commitment of our students, the tireless support of our educators and the enduring spirit of our fine arts community."

Two standout choir students, Anahi Gomez and Julia Hoover, both excelled with First Division ratings and secured their spots at the state competition in May.

In addition to the choir's success, the band also made a significant impact with four First Division ratings, resulting in two students, Leyla Vasquez and Vanessa Gomez, achieving top honors. The band also boasted two qualifiers for the state competition: Nallely Sandoval and Brandon Lara, both earning First Division ratings.

The upcoming Texas State Solo and Ensemble competition in Austin, TX, scheduled for May 24 - 27, promises to be a platform where the talented students from Canutillo High School will further showcase their musical prowess and compete at the highest level.
