The TDEA All-State Dance Team is composed of dancers representing schools from across the state who have demonstrated extraordinary ability and leadership. Those selected as All-State dancers participate in a convention experience that includes dance workshops, leadership training, master classes, and networking with other students.

“We are excited for Alan that he got to take part in this opportunity to further hone his dance skills and showcase the great talent we have here at Canutillo High School,” said CHS Principal Teresa Clapsaddle. “He represented us well and we are proud of him.”

Herrera was excited to take part in this opportunity and spent the past week working hard to learn from a variety of dance professionals and meeting other top dancers from high schools across the state while representing CHS at the convention.

The experience culminated with a performance choreographed by a master choreographer. Herrera hopes to take what he learned from his experience to bolster not only his own skills and talent but also his dance team at CHS.

“Alan has worked very hard to become the amazing dancer that he is, and he has worked even harder this week to represent Canutillo High School, Canutillo ISD, and Flight Dance Company with his fabulous performance,” said CHS Flight Dance Company Coach Teresa Ramos.
