The students will perform at the Elementary Honor Choir Virtual Concert on July 24, 2021, to be presented at TCDA’s 66th annual summer convention.

“This wonderful group of students was selected from students around the state through an arduous audition process,” Rocio Rodriguez, Reyes Elementary Choir Director said. “This is the first time that the district participates in this prestigious event.”

For the virtual performance, the students are expected to learn one or two pieces of selected music to participate in the virtual choir performance. The students participating are Isabella Campuzano, Miguel Ontiveros, Alejandro Ortiz, Vianney Ramos, Sofia Valencia Tolentino, Brianna Greco, Gianna Landin, Isabella Lee, and Bethsaida Rodriguez.

The 2021 TCDA Virtual Elementary Honor Choir is under the direction of Franciso J. Núñez. Núñez is a master teacher and has been artistic director of the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award-winning Young People’s Chorus of New York City since he founded the multicultural chorus in 1988.

The mission of TCDA is to support and foster the success of Texas choral directors and music teachers and to instill a love of music in every Texas school, church, and community singer.
