Gratitude & Reflection

Superintendent Galaviz Dear Canutillo Community,

As we approach the season of gratitude and reflection, I find myself compelled to express my heartfelt thanks to the incredible community of Canutillo. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your Superintendent for the past 11 years, and as I pen this Thanksgiving message, my heart is filled with gratitude for the extraordinary sense of community that defines Canutillo.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my tenure here has been the warmth and welcome that my family and I have received from the native Canutillo families. Your hospitality has made our transition seamless, turning Canutillo into not just a place of work, but a true home. The strength of our community lies in its people, and I am thankful for the genuine connections and friendships that have enriched our lives.

Central to our district's success is the exceptional group of students we have the privilege to serve. Canutillo students are, without a doubt, the best in Texas. Their resilience, passion for learning, and commitment to excellence inspire us daily. It is a joy to witness their growth and achievements, and I am truly thankful for the opportunity to contribute to their educational journey.

Equally deserving of gratitude are the dedicated teachers who form the backbone of our educational system. Their unwavering commitment to providing a high-quality education to our students is commendable. In the face of challenges, they stand resilient, ensuring that our classrooms remain spaces of inspiration and learning. The passion and dedication of our teaching corps are a testament to the exceptional education that Canutillo students receive.

A special note of appreciation goes to our esteemed Board of Trustees, who continue to advocate tirelessly for public education. Their commitment to doing what is right for our students and community is truly commendable. In a time when public education faces various challenges, our Board has stood strong, demonstrating courage and leadership in the pursuit of excellence. I am grateful for their unwavering support and the collaborative spirit that defines our shared vision for the future of Canutillo ISD.

As we gather with loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving, let us take a moment to reflect on the blessings that surround us. The Canutillo community is a tapestry woven with the threads of unity, resilience, and a shared commitment to education. Together, we have built something truly special, and for that, I am profoundly grateful.

In the spirit of the holiday season, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to each member of the Canutillo family for a safe and restful break. The District will be closed for the week, and we will return on Monday, November 27, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. May this Thanksgiving be a time of joy, reflection, and appreciation for the blessings that enrich our lives.

Thank you, Canutillo, for being a community that exemplifies the true meaning of gratitude and unity.

With sincere thanks,

Pedro Galaviz
