The 2017 Special Olympic festivities began with a Cinco de Mayo themed Pep Rally and slide show, followed by an afternoon at Dave & Buster's for fun, games and dinner. In the evening, the opening ceremonies, parade and relay races were held at Burges High School and continued through Saturday where CISD showed great enthusiasm and pride as the athletes and families were honored.
"Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." - Special Olympian Motto
....and brave they were as they raced, jumped, threw their way to medals at the 2017 Special Olympics.
It could not have happened without the enormous support of donors, families, students, teachers, staff, and the many volunteers who gave their time and effort to celebrate our children. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it a beautiful experience for all.
